Latest conference news: the mHealth summit

By Mr Alan Sit.

The third annual mHealth Summit recently concluded at the The Gaylord National Resort and Conventional Centre in the National Harbour, Washing DC during the 5th -7th December, 2011. The aim of the summit is to promote and exhibit technology related to health, especially wireless medical technology along with clinical research and business.

This year’s summit hosted over 300 exhibitors presenting innovative applications, tools and solutions. The summit featured discussions, keynotes and presentations by prominent contributors to the medical industry, debating on controversial issues such as the ways the affect of mobile technology will change the health care system to become more streamline, feasible and practical. There were presentations discussing developments from the United States and issues abroad, such as application of technology in health care provision in under-developed nations where health care is lacking.
The mHealth summit is growing increasingly important in the modern day where we rely so heavily on technology. Abstracts, presentation summaries, and updates on the latest gadgets at the forefront of integration into medicine can be seen at the mHealth Summit website, www.mhealthsummit.org
